Katie Ottmann is the Soil Health and AgVIP Grant Program Manager at the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food. She specializes in helping agricultural producers voluntarily implement a variety of conservation plans to meet their specific soil health, water quality, and operational goals.
Since 2021, the AgVIP program has enrolled over 150,000 acres of agricultural land in conservation plans. Katie also works closely with the Utah Soil Health Partnership to coordinate and promote soil health research, equipment, and educational events for agricultural producers, including the Soil Health in the West Conference. She holds a BS in Environmental Sciences - Soil and Watershed Management from the University of New Hampshire and an MS in Soil Science from Utah State University.
